“Awesome knowledge and ability to tailor training sessions, blocks and builds to suit your personal goals, history and (most importantly) time! I wish I found such a professional coach earlier in my sporting career – he got me to Kona”

So far it’s 16 Ironman finishes, including 3 Hawaii finishes, 4 Hawaii qualifications, 2 world 70.3 finishes and some age group wins and podiums across various distances.
“The 5km run became Ironman races and I have never looked back. His focus on the complete athlete has meant this growth has expanded into other life areas and I am not only a better athlete; I am a better person.
Nigel encouraged me to see triathlon as a journey, not just a finish line. This focus on developing a growth mindset in athletes, as much as physical and tactical arenas, encompasses his approach on ensuring people are embracing the journey with the tools required. He has equipped me for so much more than crossing the Ironman finish line; he has tuned my goals and I am healthier and happier because of the journey.”
Nigel is positive, energetic and somehow, is able to turn the challenge of Ironman training into a nexus of hard work and fun!”

“I’ve since gone under 2 hours for Olympic distance and exceeded what I ever thought possible, going sub 4 hours in a 70.3. We’ve analysed performance metrics, identified focus areas and executed training plans while also balancing the hard work with life and work commitments.”

“I started doing a bit of bike riding and a couple of triathlons and thought I was reasonably fit but was finishing at the back end of the field. I’d picked up Nigel’s contact details at a triathlon and took about 6-months to summon up the courage to call him. After all, I’d never heard of someone like me – a farmer in his late 40’s with limited sporting ability – getting a personal coach.
It was the best thing I ever did. Nigel’s training programs are all science-based – and because I live in the country, trained mostly on my own and had limited access to facilities like gyms and pools – it’s vital for me that my training programs are tailor-made, and also fit around my work schedule which is different every week. It also meant that when I trained with Nigel’s other athletes, I could fit straight in to his group sessions, as well as get to network with other like-minded people – often over a post work-out coffee!
An off-the-shelf program, from a magazine or the internet, was never going to work for me.
Nigel’s practical knowledge has led to a massive improvement in my swim, ride and run techniques. This means I get the most out of my training sessions and make full use of my training time, maximise my endurance and reduce injury risk.
In the time I’ve been with Nigel’s coaching programs, I have completed multiple triathlons including seven Ironmans and another 9 marathons. I used to think that these events were only for superhuman athletes. However, he has taught me that massive achievements are possible when the correct training process is followed and you execute the right race day strategy. Fitness has become a habit – not a chore – and I enjoy the learning process.”
